Monday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. (Come early!)
Somerset Energy Center
306 E. Mt. Vernon
The Somerset City Council is considering updating its civil rights law to include LGBTQ people in discrimination protections. Show up to support! Some folks are wearing pink or light purple to show support.
The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m., but anti-LGBTQ opponents are organizing, so showing up early is encouraged! The Fairness Ordinance has had a first reading, but is not scheduled for a second reading Dec. 10. It could be placed on the agenda for a second reading and passage in January. We anticipate opponents will sign up to speak during “public comments” at the Dec. 10 meeting. Any supporters who would like to speak, we encourage all to be respectful and thank the council for considering the Fairness Ordinance!
